COLORADO GARDEN SHOW HORTICULTURE SCHOLARSHIPS

Colorado Garden Show, Inc. (CGS) is proud to offer its scholarship programs, which provide financial aid to students attending a college or university in Colorado. For more than 20 years, CGS scholarship program has provided assistance for college students to reach their education goals in horticulture. In 2007, CGS will award $500,000 in scholarships and grants to support Colorado's horticulture industry.

CGS scholarships encourage study in Agriculture Education including:

  • Horticulture (including Fruit Science/Environmental/ Communications)
  • Floriculture
  • Landscape Architecture or Design
  • Botany
  • Biology (as it applies to horticulture/agriculture sciences)
  • Plant Pathology/Science
  • Forestry
  • Agronomy
  • Environmental Concerns (including management: Environmental, Horticulture Resource/Environmental Behavior, etc.)
  • Environmental Conservation
  • City (Rural &Urban) Planning
  • Community and Regional Planning
  • Habitat or Forest/Systems Ecology
  • Land Management
  • and/or other related or allied subjects*
CGS Scholarships
  • One full-ride four-year scholarship for an incoming freshman to study horticulture (approximately $15,000 annually)
  • One full tuition, books and fees scholarship for a graduate student (one year) (approximately 10,000 annually)
  • One full tuition, books and fees scholarship for an undergraduate (one year) (approximately $4,000 annually)
  • One $1,500 scholarship (one year)
  • One Endowment Scholarship at CSU in the amount of $1,250 (one year)
  • One $3,800 annual scholarship at Front Range Community College
Additional scholarships from CGS in conjunction with the Colorado Nursery and Greenhouse Association:
  • One Colorado Nursery Research and Education Foundation Scholarship ($4,000 total which includes $2,000 from each organization)
  • One Colorado Floral Foundation Scholarship ($4,000 total which includes $2,000 from each organization)
  • Two Front Range Community College scholarships ($1,000 each which includes $500 from each organization)
  • One Northeaster Junior College Scholarship ($1,000 total which includes $500 from each organization)

Application deadline for all scholarships is March 15, 2008.

*Applicants must be majoring in one of these fields of study. Approval must be granted by the Colorado Garden Show Scholarship Committee for application to be made in any major other than the ones listed.
